Hey, so this is a blog post by Beci… sorry if the writing is sub-par, I’m not the author of the little duo here at L’Aventure est la-bas. This last week my dad (henceforth dubbed Papa B) came to visit and in our usual fashion of crazy adventurous ways, we had decided to go somewhere neither of us gone before for a little vacation. We ended up choosing Scotland and, upping the anti, decided that the only way to truly see Scotland would be hop into a VW van and drive our way around the entire top of the country, or as it is called, the North Coast 500. We started in Inverness, the largest city in the highlands, and set out from there heading NE first along the East coast all the way up to John O’Groats, the most northern point, then West along the top of the country, before heading South all the way to the Isle of Skye, touring all of that in a couple days, and then finally heading back to the mainland and back into Inverness. Instead of explaining all that we did, I will show you, and add in my little tidbits/side-comments along the way. DAY ONE: Inverness to Thurso DAY TWO: Thurso to Lochinver
DAY THREE: Lochinver to Morvich
DAY FOUR: Morvich to Isle of Skye
DAY FIVE: Isle of Skye to Loch Ness DAY SIX: Fort Augustus to Inverness Today was a quick trip, we drove along the edge of Loch Ness from the bottom to the top as we headed to the Inverness train station.
So that's pretty much it! This last weeks had be fantastic, it was by far the best way I could have checked off Scotland in my bucket list and I would most definitively suggest putting it on yours if it isn't already.
As Jen usually ends these little blog posts with a quote I figured I should as well so... Quote of the Post: "There are two seasons in Scotland, June and winter." - Bill Connolly
